Hey Guys,

I was wondering has anyone had any experience using the K&N Air Filter for their Corolla or any car as a matter of fact. I have a '04 Corolla CE in which I would like to install this. But before I do so, I wanted to hear what you guys have to say about it... Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

It increases the amount of air that flows into your engine, thus increasing the amount of fuel that gets burned with each stroke of the pistons, thus again increasing power. (only by 2 or 3 I think, maybe) It also allows more dirt to be sucked into the engine, which over time can be bad for it, but I'm not worried about it, Toyota's are uber resilient.

I have one in my 2006 corolla CE and have put on 16,000 miles on with the K&n filter and have had no problems at all.:) I did notice a little increase in acceleration but nothing major.

i have one on my 05 corolla
i noticed the smog filter that comes after the K&N get a bit discolored though...
so it's not doing a very good job of filtering.
i clean it every oil change also so it's not like im neglecting the filter it's just not filtering very good i wouldn't get it if i was to do it again.
and i noticed no change in performance...but, i think my MPG may have gone down 1 or 2

I've got one in my XRS. It got a little bit louder under the hood and I noticed a little bump in my MPG, but that is about it. The Butt Dyno didn't notice any power gains. If you are looking to add horsepower then there are definitely other ways of doing it, but this isn't a bad purchase if you plan on keeping the car for awhile. I had a K&N in my Accord for 8 years and it worked great. It definitely paid for itself over time.

kind of wished i didn't get it since you'd have to keep it for like 10 years before it pays for it self.

how much did you pay for yours? mine was like 50bucks
regular paper filter cost 10
i change my filter at like 7500K cuz driving in the city it gets dirty quick. with all the construction and stuff
and i've cleaned the K&N like 6 times already and it's only been 3 years.
do you not drive very often or something?

It makes no sense to get one if you only drive to the grocery store and back, if you drive a lot it does make sense because you have to buy a new filter every certain amount of kilometers/miles if you're putting a lot of them, it adds up.

K&N filters can go on for a long time before you have to wash them, so you could wash the filter one time instead of replacing the regular one 3 times, makes more sense to me. :)
