So Im the proud new owner of an 09 LE Corolla. I have one concern...

My interior is that gray/black. Ive only had the car for a week, and Im already seeing some dust, and noticing that the black parts show these weird white smudges on occasion.

Any tips, tricks, or suggestions for keeping my interior spotless?

What do you do to keep your interior clean?

Outside of that, I love the car so far.

I use one of those Armor all microfibre mini dry mop thingies. Works great to remove dust without touching the surface. For the dark parts that get white scuffs from finger nails or even fingers, I use a wet wipe.

The baby wipes I use don't leave any residue and have no chemicals that would harm anything...after all they are used on babies...

Its more like a micro fiber duster like the one on this page: https://www.acklandsgrainger.com/images/catalog/2365.pdf bottom right hand corner...even works on the interior windows.

Ill try the baby wipe idea...

Anyone have treated seats/floor mats? When I got my last car, they did some weird detailing thing where they coated everything. This time I dont think they did. I liked having floor mats that were water resistant, even though after 3 years of rain, snow, salt, sand, mud, river water, and many scrubbings, it didnt work too well.

Recommendations on safe brands? Ive got some camping water-proofer that works well... dunno bout the interior of a car though.

Im not super anal about keeping a clean car... I live in it on some days, so I keep it as clean as possible, which is really clean compared to most people. But it is not spotless...

Anybodu got any ideas on vacuuming the carpets effectively?

I've got an "S" with the black interior and the debris literally gets woven into the carpets, especially around the perimeter of the mats.

I went at the carpets with a Shop-Vac and it only got the loose stuff.

I know I should've vacuumed more often... it's the first time I'm cleaning the carpets since I bought it 18 months ago

Any detailing tricks to make the process easier?
