Hey guys! I was just given a 2002 Toyota Corolla LE from my grandmother who can no longer keep her car. Her car is fully loaded except for cruise, sunroof, and a key fob. I was wondering if there is some way to figure out if I can program a fob to the car or if its 100% out of the question. FYI the car had its ignition replaced a couple of years ago so one key opens the doors and one can start the car.

I can't give you much information, but check under your driver seat for a security system box. If it's installed by Toyota it may be RS3000 or RS3200 and there will be an FCC ID number on it. You need this number to get the proper remote for the system. You can also search for more info once you know what system you have. If it's equipped for keyless entry then you need to find that box, if not under the seat, then maybe under the dash somewhere.

Well, even though the engine is different in 8th gens, a lot of stuff is the same. Suspension parts, power steering, etc. Toyota only seems to change a few things from generation to generation.

Is that Dr. Z or do you have a bike?

Do you just want to add any key fob? You can just rig up an aftermarket system and get remote start and all that jazz.
