I would just replace it with a much better aftermarket unit that has all the features you want.

If you go to crutchfield, they will sell you a PNP harness or a set you crimp yourself. Better to DIY.

Any suggestions on which one to get and where to buy? Do you self install or get someone to install it?
Only you can answer that question. It al depends on the features you want. I use a local NW company called Car Toys as they have good prices and the install guys are great. Install is also guaranteed for lifetime. Most head units are also installed free or for very little. I've never been unhappy with a purchase from them. Look around your area for car stereo shops. I love my Rosen head unit that I bought from them many years ago for my 2009 Corolla S Turbo.
