Le Vs. Se

My SE V6 w/NAV and every other option available from the factory is in the shop getting the Valve Body TSB done. They didn't finish in time for me to go home, so I got a loaner. It is a Barcelona Red LE-I4 w/JBL. I love my Camry, but I now have renewed appreciation for my baby. I can't imagine driving that four banger every day. I am sure it is fine relative to comparable engines, but it doesn't touch the V6 power. Also, the suspension feels loose, obviously comapred to the SE it is. The seats are nowhere near as comfy either.

Best part is that my wife (who didnt' understand why I wanted the bells/whistles and the V6) drove the loaner to the store last night. When she came inside she said "I am sooo glad you got what you did. That thing is slower than my Sienna"

Go ahead...rubbed it in!!!
But seriously, I regret it after I bought my I4 LE. If I can do it over...V6 SE. But I just have to change the front grill on the SE. The black grill just doesn't do it for me. Stainless Grill with V6 SE all the way. I love the look of the dual exhaust that why I mod my I4 for the dual exhaust. Oh well, I just have to make the best of what I got.

Too bad the SE is getting very common nowadays.
Well, the SE can't get Smart Key

So get an XLE, change the body kit, add spoiler, change rims, change grille...

That is one sup up XLE/SE hybrid...ahahhaahh

I too have an SE V6 and wouldn't have ever considered buying a 4 cylinder.
But I do have the once when cold 3rd-4th flare. I'm still waiting to take it in until I see people's transmssion issue actually being fixed longterm.

Please let us know how your valve body replacement goes.
I wish you luck from what Ive been reading about this for the last few months.

No need for Smart Key if you have an aftermarket remote start. :whatwhat:

My thoughts exactly...although they serve different purposes. I made a conscious decision that I was more keen on the performance and aesthetics available in the SE over the climate control, reclining seat, and push start on the XLE. Different priorities for different people.

I picked up my car, and during the 40 mile drive home (including leaving the dealer and taking some non-highway streets, I didn't notice a difference. That is good considering I really didn't have much of an issue. At least it isn't really broken now :D

They did give me the 6.1 DVD for my NAV and didn't ask for the 5.1 that I removed before giving them the car. Maybe I will make myself a copy and sell one of them..or something legal ;)

They also replaced my partially blown/damaged rear speaker. All told, the warranty receiveable from Toyota to teh dealer is over $1200. It was about $900 in parts for the valve body and gasket swap on the tranny for the TSB.
