I've been browsing wheelersoffroad.com for the last hour or so. I may get the 1.5 inch add a leaf kit to level the slightly sagging back end. Anyone tried those add a leafs for levelling a sag on a 97 reg cab 2.7 4x4?? They have lots of lift kits on that site.

This won't help but I sympathize with you because this same thing happened to me on my 96. I was in a hurry and didn't look and didn't know that third parties made leaf springs for Tacomas. I wish now that I had gotten leafs from someone other then Toyota. I went to a Toyota junk yard and a guy there told me that old Toyota leafs will work. If you lived in Colorado I'd let you have the set I got...cheep because I ended up getting a new set from Toyota $$$. Yea stupid me. Toyota must have some problem designing leaf springs because there is a TSB for current models. Anyway if you're going to replace them yourself get ready to cut off the bolts that hold them on because most likely they'll be seized tight. Not only will the nuts be seized but the bolts are probably seized in the leaf.

Dealerships are always a no-no unless its something you truely can't fix yourself...more computer / eletrical stuff..

Well now you know for next time, or just do the easy thing, Get some aftermarket ones, Throw ur current leaf springs u just bought on Craigslist, Or Ebay.. Charge basically what u just had to pay.. Someone will buy it if they are in the same situation as u
