Now that TYC is producing this part, the prices are coming down some and I'm interested in trying to do the same thing.

My guess is that the wiring harness is already there, it's just not plugged in. I'd be surprised if it didn't require a relay change so that the DRL was provided by the LED array as opposed to the high beam at partial power. I've been meaning to pull apart the lower bumper and do some investigating. I can tell you that Toyota does offer the Limited-style LED DRLs as part of an "appearance package" on the XLE (for $1700). Hopefully that means it's fairly plug and play.

Is the connector likely there? Yes. However you'll have to take it to a dealer to have them disable the high beam drl and enable the output to the led wires. It'll be a setting in the ECU....I think (I'm fairly certain the 3rd gen was software based). That's only if it's fully prewired.

when i took off my front bumper to replace my grill i did not see that wiring for the LED DRL under the foglight. i downloaded the manual from TIS so i know what i was looking for.
