I know the related subjects have been talking for a while. My question is somewhat different.

I changed my headlights to

http://www.vleds.com/h4-lmz-platinum.html

I bought 5000k, I am debating whether or not I should go back to

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-9005...8-1-fkmr0&keywords=philips+xtreme+update+9005

or

https://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-Sil...&qid=1480986402&sr=8-1&keywords=sylvania+9005

When I am stuck in traffic, I compare mine to others, it looks very bright. But when I am driving by myself under lighted street, I feel like the headlight is not as bright as it should be.

I was wondering if experts could give me some inputs...thanks

Thats because your headlight optics were never designed for LEDs. If you replace it with anything else it will change the way light comes out. So it sounds like in your case, its blinding everyone else and you're not getting the light output directed down the road. I have looked into LED before for my CRV and seems like the concensus is LED will give you the short range brightness but lack the throw for distance down the road. Especially dangerous at night time driving in the pitch black freeways.
Personally I would go with HIDs if you got projector headlights. I still don't think PnP LEDs are good enough yet as a replacement. Mind you many hondas/acuras have crazy bright OEM LED headlights now days but those have like 4-5 LED bulbs each side.

Regardless of the claim that these bulbs are 125% brighter than halogen, I don't buy it. If this was the case, why do cars with LED headlights, Audi, Cadillac... have up to five bulbs, it isn't an aesthetic choice, it's to get them as bright as a halogen or probably an HID. I would go with the HID swap as others have suggested.

Chances they melt ur headlights housings r near zero. There r heaps on the market, i THINK most of the good ones use philips bulbs anyways. The ones i have installed r all philips brand (6000k bulbs as well as the ballasts) cos it was also my first time with hids so i didnt want to try a smaller brand. I decided to spend a bit more cos my frd sed he received some cheap ones for a bday present n they broke pretty quick. I reckon you can check out xenondepot, they r very popular on this forum, seems to b a trusted brand.

thank you. I have ordered a Morimoto Elite 35W kit with relay.

Stupid questions:

1. HID will not affected by hot summer? (melting)

2. How long does it take for HID to fully ignite? I read online, is it about 20 secs? thanks

Morimoto is a good quality kit. You don't need to worry about summer heat. My OEM HID takes less than 5 seconds to reach full brightness even in -40c temp. Dont know about other aftermarket kit thou.

As I recall, and see from a quick search, the heat radiated by HID's is less than that from halogens. I have had my Morimotos in my halogen projectors for a good 2-3 years with no issues. Also, I know this same mod has been done by many other members with no issues.
