A wheel offset is the amount of space, usually expressed in milimeters, from which the part where the lugs attach to the car, is from the center of the wheel.

When you look at the pics above, notice how the depth of the center of the wheel differs in each picture. That is offset.

I will have Enkei RSV 17x7's with Ecsta MX 205/40YR/17's with a +40mm offset (factory lowering springs) - however this is for a Yaris...should be very similar for you (this was the same as what was acceptable on the previous generation of Corollas as well...I used to own a 2000 Corolla).

I will try to remember to update this thread when I have them on the car. The wheels are on order and will be arriving in a few weeks.

Cheers

Any rubbing problems, etc. with running wider tires on the Echo? I'm looking at getting some summer wheels for my car.

Thinking of going 205. Nice to see that 215s fit. Was rolling of the fenders necessary?

you wont need any spacers ... +40 should be close to stock

Apparently It's +45 Stock But The Boys At Toyota Are Telling Me I Might Have To Worry About Rubbing While Cornering. Are They Mistaken? Or Are They Just Trying To Cover Their Asses?

did you read what you posted first ??? You were worried about put in spacers ... wouldnt spacers push the wheels out futher ???

Thats why I answered you should be fine... Stock is +45 and what is the width on it ??? its not a 7" wide wheel correct ... so dont worry about it they would stick out or rub ... that too high an offset is a safe bet on fwd...

If I were to put spacers on it yes the wheel would be further out but I wouldn't want to replace the lugs as well if they weren't long enough. I just wanted to make sure that I could fire on 16's without making any compromises. But seeing as how some people in this forum are puttin on wheels with +35 offset I figured I would be all right. Thanks Wraith
