Lighted Visors

Today I had to take my corolla in because the dealer was running a special on Nuclear blast proof window tint and they put me in a 09 Camry.

Anyway I had checked on lighted vanity visors for my car and was told I couldn't do it.

I saw on the camry that the visor isn't actually lit , there is a light in the headliner and when you slide the mirror on the visor open it causes the light to go on.

If Toyota used this type of lighting on the older camry's I intend to pull a set, install them in my headliner and put a switch in my dash to turn them on.

Hopefully that will shut the wife up.

Are you sure the dealer can't just special order a set in for you to make your visor better than all the other visors out there?:D

Kidding aside. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. It would take a LOT of wiring and precise cutting of the headliner to make it look oem though. Just ripping off the headliner would put me off from a project like this.

We obviously don't know each others skill level but it is actually a pretty easy mod.

The problem is if you did it from the dealer the headliner would be replaced and the visors would still be just as ugly with that little mirror. The camry visor isn't any better.

Measuring is the the key point.
Then cutting out for the lights in the headliner
Running a wire down to a keyed on switch and then running it to a rocker switch in the dash.
First step is finished.
Went to the local LKQ Upull it and grabbed a set out of a 90 something SAAB.
I won't even have to wire in a switch because each light has it's own on off button.

Now to find the time and the will at the same moment.
