i suggested lightened pulleys over on the c2c forum in the product request area but it never got very much attention
underdrive pulleys are smaller diameter than stock so they dont spin as fast and the most common flaw is an alternator that doesnt charge the battery properly, but lightened pulleys are stock diameter just lightened usually made from aluminum which reduces the rotational mass.light weight? How much HP would swaping out pulleys for lighter weight ones make? I thought under drive pulleys is what we want.
I had under drive pulleys on my mustang and I thought it was a total waste of time and money. My voltage was too low most times to even charge the battery properly.
guy you aint NEVER goping to get a 10%underdrive pulleys are smaller diameter than stock so they dont spin as fast and the most common flaw is an alternator that doesnt charge the battery properly, but lightened pulleys are stock diameter just lightened usually made from aluminum which reduces the rotational mass.
I helped my friend put a "power pulley" (a lightened pulley) on his 67 baja bug and he went from 62whp to 67whp which is a huge improvement.
