passenger seat belt warning light!!

The passenger seat belt warning light comes on every time I start the car up!!! and there's nobody sitting on the passenger side...It also starts chiming as I pick up speed to let me know to buckle up on the passenger side..eventually the chiming goes away...but the light keeps on blinking..let me know the remedy b4 I take it to the dealer!!! I think this should be covered under the warranty!!! I have a 05 camry le.

Drive safe!

1. @39K miles the rubber around doors and windows is wearing down, which lead to wind noise when i drive, but some weathering strip fixed that right up.

2. I had the problem with the steering, but just got the car alighned $40 and drive like new again. I hit 80+ mph and still no signs of vibration or wiggle.

3. Eninge squeeks when running cold, But i think thats b/c of the belt rubbing up against something.

4. Vibration and steeringwheel jiggle when i brake, and when i brake lightly at slow speeds i can feel the uneven surface. I think i just have to get them machined down, correct me if am wrong anybody

Small problems w/ easy fixes.... I Love MY CAR

PS. as for tires Im changing all mine out From Bridgestone Ponenza RE92 to Bridgestone Ponenza G009, b/c the REs have NO traction on wetsurfaces, but the G009 has good reviews on tirerack.com and meets my needs.

The whilsting is coming from the engine area....

2003 Camry SE inline 4

1) trunk does not close properly. you need to apply some force. (fixed on the 2004+)

2) weather strip not installed properly so when it rains/car wash...water seeps into the triangle window in the back.

3) little creeks here and there

4) wind noise....(either replace whether stripping and/or install some sound dampening)

nothing huge i suppose..but would like to get the sound dampened

2002 Camry LE (with ABS, Side Air Bags, Auto Mirror and Security System.)

  • Within first 100 miles the car was having some noise from the back with no passengers in the back seat. No noise when passengers in back seat. After about four visits (four separate days drop off), I figured it out that the noise was from rear suspension being loose from somewhere. Finally it was fixed and no problems since. If I remember correctly they billed Toyota about $75 every time they worked on my car unsuccessfully. It said different things like put insulation etc. (Fixed in Warranty)
  • Voice from the dash as if two pieces of plastic sockets are banging against each other somewhere in between the ignition key and center AC vents. Never fixed but the noise has reduced over the time and I only hear it sometimes now. :sosad:
  • At about 19,000 miles got wired noises and feel in the Steering:sosad: . Took it to the dealer after few arguments they agreed there is a problem. Outcome they had to replace the rack and pinion steering assembly. Mechanic at the dealership told me most people don’t even notice this problem and just live with it. He has replaced about three or four of these assemblies for same problem. They billed Toyota for about $950 to do this job (parts and labor). I know because you have to sign the paperwork. (Fixed under warranty):whatwhat:
  • At about 30,000 miles same problem again. This time there was no need for arguments or anything. They took the car in right away and gave me a rental car since by now I have purchased extended warranty with zero deductible. They fixed the car within one day and billed Toyota under warranty for about $800 for changing the steering shaft. (Fixed under warranty)
  • Driver’s seat is loose and makes loud click noise every time I brake and slide forward or backward due to acceleration or turning. This problem is not fixed yet but it will be trust me. I am not going to except anything less than perfect. Possible cure would be change the power seat assembly. :D
    • Forgot to mention alignment was bad when I got my car and the tires took a lot of beating till about first 5000 miles and thus tires did not last more than 19000 miles.
    • There was a recall on the side airbags.

one more thing...not sure about you guys...
last winter was pretty cold. dreading this winter..but when it gets cold...the steering wheel tends to make farting noises. only till it warms up a bit..the sound decreases..but it still there.

i think i recall there was a fix listed on the forum something about changing a rubber gasket. is this covered under warranty? i remember asking my service guy and he said he would look into it..but nothing happened.
