Little Grille/Vents Behind the Doors??

Hello again. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but while changing out the seatbelts in my truck (1990 Pickup Regular Cab) I noticed a little grille or a vent that is directly behind the doors on both the drivers side and passenger side.

Does anyone know what purpose these serve? Are they normal on all the trucks? I was considering dynamatting over them if they serve no functional purpose. Any info would be appreciated.

mine has them. I always guessed that they are jsut to slip the seatbelt housing onto to hold it and then you can adjust it. I dont believe they are vents, but ive never checked to see if air comes out of them.

they are to cool your ass cheeks on the hot muddy summer days

i think they are for air venting with in the cab.

i see it alot in car trunks and in newer trucks.

When I had my 94 I think I took those out and screwed 4" speakers in those holes...

Or was that in my Isuzu?

I dunno. They don't serve any purpose at all though. They just fill those holes.

The vents are for when you close the door. The pressure in the truck has to go some where so it exhausts out of these vents.

The grill is missing from the vent on my 92 hilux, has anyone seen a part number for these?

Will you post a photo of the vents? Are they inside or on the outside of the vehicle?

Wide view, driver side, behind the passenger door in between the cab and the bed, finger pointing at it

Closer view of outside, some kind of grille missing

This should get ya closer.
