It engauged fine no problem. after 10 seconds I disenguaged and heard/felt a loud clunk... not good right ? I repepated this a few times to make sure. What do you think is the problem ? the truck has 60k on it. I was gong no more than 50mph when this happened.

Otherwise the truck was perfect. besides the smell of the god that was left in there :disappoin

I have an 04 TRD AT 4x4 and it does the same thing most of the time. I think it is normal. It does while driving, 50 mph, 2 mph in reverse and standing still. The first time I heard it I was like "WTF"? I brought mine to the dealer where I got the truck and the service manager said it was normal and quite common. I found this article on it.

BTW are you buying this truck and selling yours?

Thanks for the info. I was scard somethign was wrong with the truck. My 05 and my old 1995 did not make this clunk at all.

yes I think Im doing it. a 2005 base model regular car to a 2002 fullt loaded. I really do like the pre 05s a little better. Hell I would buy a 05 ex cab loaded if I could afford it.

Most of the loaded models come with keyless entry (at least all the ones I've seen--including my own). If it has keyless entry but no factory alarm it's a real easy upgrade from keyless entry to a fully functional alarm. I hear ya about trading a reg cab base model to a fully loaded rig-I had a base model reg cab 03 Silverado work truck with NO power options at all and all I can say is I'm glad my Tacoma is fully loaded. The first things I'd do with truck is definately the Deckplate mod, grease the driveshafts and change the diff fluids and t-case fluid. I changed my rear diff fluid last year and it was nasty black and sludgey.
