I recently bought a 2007 Tacoma TRD Off-Road PreRunner, and I am interested in buying an exhaust system. I want something loud, but not too loud. I have been looking at the TRD and FlowMaster, and would appreciate any thoughts or comments you may have. If you prefer the FlowMaster, please indicate which series or model number.

Thanks

If you use the search function, you can find tons of info on different exhaust options that people have tried. A few even posted video and audio clips to give everyone an idea of what theirs will sound like. Just type in exhaust or muffler.

To give you a head start, there isn't much to gain from a cat back so many of us go with just the muffler and OEM piping. I have a Magnaflow 12576.

This advice is just PRICELESS! thanks.... Yeah, no reason to waste money on a full cat-back exhaust that will give no gains in power, so if u want sound, buy the muffler only.

^I should add a caveat to that: If you're also going with headers, I would think there'd be a more significant power gain with a full cat back.

For sure unless your getting headers, y pipe and removing some cats your better off just changing mufflers. Way cheaper too. I like magnaflow a lot. Had a couple of them before on a chevy 350 and Powerstroke. If I didn't have the TRD eqhaust thats what I would buy.
