Hello,

I am having the front-end, squeaking noise that so many are having. Finally had enough and am looking into replacing the lower control arms on both sides.

Does anyone know what tools, e.g., socket sizes and such, are needed to complete the job? I am trying to have all the tools I need on hand before I start, as once I get the car in the air, I won't have an easy way to the parts store.

Thanks!!

Did you try stuffing silicon grease in the pancake bushing where the bolt goes thru the rubber...worked for me 3 years ago..still on original LCA's on my '15 rolla...

Super Lube is a good one also. Try to lube it first because it would be a waste to replace the entire control arms if the old bushings are still good (but just squeaky). Plus, a lot less work and no alignment required after you complete the job.

But, I couldn't imagine the job requiring anything more than a basic metric ratchet + socket set, open end wrenches, a pry bar, ball joint removal tool, and possibly some hex keys or a pair of vise grips to hold onto the ball joint shaft as you are unscrewing it (in case it spins freely).
