I don't know why, but my 2wd sits way higher than most 2wd's. I'm sick of off-roading in it and now I want to lower it. (bought a 4wd!) So, what would you recommend for lowering?

I know if I relieved the t-bars they would be weak and have a poor spring rate and ride on the bump stops. So maybe drop spindles??? Where do I get them?

For the rear...blocks are easy, but I refuse to use them. Any other options there???

Thanks

First off: Nice stuck. :)

Turning down the torsion bars will give you a lot of drop and you don't have to go to the bottom. Also, smaller diameter tires will help as well.

As for lowering blocks, they are safe to use on the rear of the vehicle, you just don't want them up front. Option B is to remove springs from the rear spring packs, get the springs re-arched or replace with lowering springs.

If you are in the Portland area, I am willing to assist you with the lowering.

Cheers,

I'm in the salem area:D

So how the hell did that happen?

there's a story here...i just know it...lol
Of course there is!

I don't have enough time to go into detail but I was driving too fast around a snowy mountain corner and slid right off. I was trying to catch up to my brother.

I got unstuck with 2-20ft chains, 20ft strap, a come-along, and my brother truck. Took us 3 hours to get it out...here are the pics...

I don't think you can get any further over without flipping, Man you are one lucky.....guy.

Drop spindles are not that expensive and keep the geometry closer to stock.

One other benefit is it allows you to run more backspace with wider rims.

Where do you find them? And which ones would you recommend? I am running stock wheels and tires, and I have no clue what aftermarket wheels would fit and with what back spacing I will need. Thanks
