Well I thought I was going to have to wait a while to install my 3.9 ring and pinion and LSD because I need the axles shaved 5-8mm off. Well I found a website of a guy who does this to the excat rear end all the time and I found out I can shave them myself so since I had a set of spare axles with brand new bearings just for this I shaved the axles down and this weekend I got some time to put in the rear end and axles. Well taking the axles was easy(the left side you have to take the drum brake setup off to get to the axles bolt and the right side you don't). So I got the axles out and then the stock pumpkin(3.3:1 ring and pinion and open diff). Putting the new pumpkin(3.9:1 ring and pinion and LSD from Corolla AE86) was easy and then I found out I cut the axles perfectly and so I put them in. The right side was easy and then the left side I ended up braking one of the return springs on the brake system so I had to freaking wait until yesterday to get a new spring and today I installed it. and ran the car with it on jack stands for about 20 miles. I then drove it around my block(wanted to stay close to home just in case) and man it felt good. I didn't get it over 25 mph yet but I did go around this roundt about down my street and let me jsut say drifting kicks ass. I can't really tell a difference from the 3.3 to the 3.9 but I can tell a huge difference in the open to LSD. Traction is soo much better now. Hopefully I will get to KCIR in a month or so to get some times to see what the difference is. For now I am going to drive it about 100 miles around my block just to break it in and to just make sure since I can't really hear much noise since I run open header on this car.
