I did a Gibson Stainless High Flow Cat Back on my 2002 TRD V6. Sounds good but no measureable gain in performance or gas mileage. I don't remember what I paid for it 3 years ago but Gibson was cheaper then the others and good quality.

I was thinking of buying a performance exhaust for my tacoma. I was thinking of magnaflow though, does anyone have a video of the exhaust because I'd really like to know what it sounds like compared to my own.

No offense to anyone who has aftermarket exhaust, but I did quite a bit of research when I bought my 02 V6, and found that it is completely not worth the money unless you are planning on bolting on a supercharger. Most dyno results that the ads show for bolt on cat back exhaust is phony and people with access to dynos that have a tacoma showed no gains with exhaust, cold air, or TB Spacers. The Factory exhaust system is correctly tuned for the correct amount of backpressure, the the 3.4 needs to run at top performance, and CAI's typically use metal pipe, and no heat shields which actually makes for a loss of 3-4HP. So unless you are looking to go forced induction, or just want to stand out with the tone, it is a waste of money.

it's one of those things where some say it helps and some say it doesn't. I know from my experience that after I put a flowmaster muffler on I didn't have to downshift nearly as much when I was driving through steep mountains. It helps a little bit in some aspects.

After thinking about it, I should qualify my statement about the FIPK & exhaust.
I did the mods after only having the truck for a few months and that was 3 plus years ago.
Maybe I'm just use to how this set up works.
