Magnaflow is the way to go

After listening to hours of 10th gen corolla exhausts in person and online, I finally decided to go with the magnaflow 2"/2" universal with a 3.5" lxp stainless tip.

Right when i cranked the engine i realized what i had been missing for so long. The tone coming out is not very noticeable in the cabin unless you gun it, but on the outside there is nothing but rich deep tone. Its like the engine finally woke up from sleeping. Throttle response is much better ( note that i also did the air box mod) and the car pulls just a tad bit stronger.

Anyone debating doing an exhaust should get this set up with no fear. Kills borla IMO, its like it was designed for the 1.8, PICs up tomorrow when there is some light:chug:

congrats! I too love my Magnaflow!
+1 worth every penny
Oh wow, thats really awesome. I too have been debating much over Borla and Magnaflow!
Hey Magnaflow buddy, try to drive inside the tunel, or drive up to any parking building with window down, you will hear the magnificent. I love it!!!
from a listening perspective, the borla had more rasp to it

the magnaflow is deep with added throat

im sure either one would be fine, all depends on which tone you prefer and which brand you want to rep haha
borla sounds classier to me, magnaflow sounds more untamed. honestly both great i just like my borla, every person who hears it compliments me.
pretty proud haah

I was lucky enough to hear both in person & I much preferred the Borla. The Magnaflow was more raspy in person, I found it okay but lacking the silky smoothness of the Borla. I also found it hard to tell from the videos as even the video I did of my Borla sounds 100% better in person. You never know the camera quality & most of those mics are really small & not very good on the cameras & phones that people use. Just ask Ilikebass7 why he put on a Borla, after hearing mine it was a no brainer. :naughty::naughty::naughty:
 :smokin:
Both the Borla & Magnaflow sound great on the 1.8L.

Magnaflow sounds better at high RPMs on the 1.8L, however for everyday driving the Borla sounds sweet.

BUT... on the 2.4L the Magnaflow wins hands down IMO. (Then again it is all about personal preference)

But, remember that they will sound different based on the engine.

2.4L XRS (my XRS)

1.8L S (thestone11's)

Is this the one you got? I heard one of these the other day and I was very surprised at the quality of the sound for the price.

thats the one

yea this actually sounds like the low not too loud growl im looking for, i see its the magnaflow, is it just the muffler? another thing holding me back is i have an auto lol i wish i would have gotten the manual, it doesnt sound the same for an auto , when the gears change, anyone have the part number for this setup
Part #11264 ( universal muffler, 2", offset/offset) I believe. And you can basically get any tip with a 2" or 2.25" inlet. 2.25" is better though because its easier for the person installing to work with I guess. Rather than having to butt the tip and the exhaust piping together and weld, they can slide the larger tip over the piping.

I just got the muffler above and a 4" round rolled angle-cut double walled tip (also 2.25" inlet).

I really cant decide....I actaully do have an official job now so I can finally save up money for my car:clap: but every thread i read about the the magnaflow and borla....just confuses me even more:confused: I really dont rev high that much unless going through the intersection and its yellow or when I enter the freeway but thats it. Since I just read that borla sounds really good for everyday normal driving....I might have to go that route:thumbsup: but I could change my mind again:lol: I've heard the Magnaflow in person on Bazzle's car and LOVED it...just wonder what the borla would sound like

and my car friends all tell me to get borla
I love my Magnaflow and get lots of compliments on my setup
I really think it comes down to personal preference. I personally chose borla due to the ease of installation. It is a bolt on cat-back exhaust direct from the borla factory in Oxnard California. PN-11795 is the part number. Sounds great, and I have better throttle response.
