Recently my Rav4 maintenance light started blinking 8 times after startup then goes out. It is 2000 miles shy of its next oil change. I have found nothing that addresses this issue. Any ideas of a cause or solution?

It thinks the OC is 500 miles away. Perhaps there are settings for the OCI you are using so the warning will be in sync?

Usually when is close to the oil change is doing it. How many miles do you have?

2000, light reset at that time

I reset the Maintenance required light this morning and back to normal. I'll just change oil in 3000 miles and see what happens then.

When you change the oil, go thru the reset procedure. That’ll get the reminder back in sync with reality.

I always reset the light. It was out than came on as described in 2000 miles.

As noted above, the light is reset as per toyota instructions in owners manual at each oil change.
