94 Geo Prism with 72K. (1) Should I change timing belt, and with that water pump?? Or if it aint broke dont fix it? Will also be changing all fluids, p stering, anti-freeze, and have trans fluid & filter done, along with air cleaner and PVC. What about the Evaporation Emmisions Canister, how much to replace?? Also ol question, any advantage to go with the "high miles" stuff??

Thanking everyone in advance

Hoping this preventive maintenance will get me to 120K

Sounds like a good plan, although water pumps will generally last longer than this. (I changed mine out for the first time at 170K.) Don't worry about the charcoal canister unless it's broken...also make sure you do cap, rotor, and plugs if you haven't done those yet. If you're not burning oil, I'd suggest a switch to synthetic and run 5-7K between changes. If you are burning oil, nothing really makes a difference, up to and including a quart of ATF.

Thanks for your responce. Not burning any oil, so I should just stay with what I'am doing (5-30)?? Usually dump a 1/3 can STP during summer month. Not sure when tuneup was done, was my mother-in laws ride, but will put that on my list. Would you believe my mom(87yrs old) has a 95prism with 45K, guess somewhere down the road I or someone alot younger will have a super ride to mod. Thanks again, off to the parts store.
