Hello... 2004 Toyota 2-wheel drive Extend Cab with 81,xxx miles.

When cold (engine has warmed up so no engine issue) on initial clutch engagement (letting the clutch out) there is a knocking (repeative) for about 10 to 20 feet.... then it goes away.

Trunk otherwise works great with no clutch slippage or issues.

Curious... again I have omitted the engine as issue as I warm it up and it is quiet..

Any ideas?

Sounds like your release bearing may be going bad.

Could be a throwout bearing. Could be a bit of clutch chatter. When was the clutch last replaced?

Original Clutch... had entire unit (less clutch) replaced by Toyota under warrenty due to high pitch whine... defective case... vehicle has 81K miles currently...
