I drained the oil from my 5-speed today (lots of it unintentionally, but that's a different story....) while swapping out the passenger side CV axle.

Can I fill through the backup light switch, since it's right on top and so easy to get to?

Just wondering.....

It would be much better to use the actual fill hole on the front of the trans. A funnel with a hose on the bottom gets in there nicely. Fill until it starts coming out the fill hole (on a flat surface).

Also note that you should be using Dexron ATF for the 4-cylinder 5-speed trans unless you are having synchro or other problems with it. The 6-cylinder 5-speed uses normal gear oil.
