Manual transmission stuck in reverse on 1985 Toyota Camry

I did back my car to a nearby mechanic. The shifter and linkages were closely inspected and are fine. The problem is inside the transmission. My guess is that reverse shift arm is bent or some gear or bearing is jammed. Who knows if my dad will help me replace it with a used transmission. Maybe its time to get a newer car.
