Hello,

Anyone else expereincing this.

When I am running my car and I put on max. AC I feel the RPM's wanting to drop and the car almost feels like it is going to stall out, but does'nt. I have the 2009 2.4 L Corolla XRS in manual transmission. I have about 58, 000 km.

I also find when on max. AC there is a very noticable different in the acceleration.

Also, when I got my 48,000 km maintenance service from the dealer the mechanic said that he felt that my throttle body may need a cleaning because it felt slightly slow to acceleate. When I called Toyota they said it should be good until something like 90, 000 km.

Anyone else have any advice, similar circumstances you have encountered

If you have been using OEM engine air filters, your throttle bottle should be like-new clean for 100s of 1000s of kms. Aftermarket is another story.

A/C takes engine power to run. The more often the A/C compressor cycles on, the more power its going to consume. On a big V8 its not hardly noticeable, but on a smaller I4 is definitely noticeable.

I have been using the standard dealer OEM Air filters. I have not used aftermarket ones. They wanted to sell me on a throttle body clean but I said no cause it seemed way to early.

Im sitting at about the same mileage as you are EvanXRS and I've got the same setup, manual XRS.

There is a difference in terms of power loss when the AC is on, but that's normal. I'd say its far from a significant loss in power though. As for almost stalling out, you probably should have that checked out. With the AC on my RPMs haven't ever dropped below 700.

RPM's

Hello, It is about the same as me. It seems like my RPM's wanna idle around 700 RPM's.
Would a cold air intake help this problem and provide me with some increased acceleration.
Anyone know what that would run me $$$? and what part would work best.
