i have owned various yotas through the years but have been workin on a 97 camry 2.2 that i bought for a parts car. i decided it was too good for a parts car so i'm trying to make it my beater car but havent got all the bugs out. in doing research on google for various engine probs i end up here most of the time so i thought i might as well join. the tips and knowledge seem bountiful here. i have 84,86 an 88 trucks and usually get by own my own but these camrys are killin me with these codes. i have a 99 2.2 i inherited 2 yrs ago but it only has 34,000 on it so its no problem but the wifes 98 and the 97 beater have miles and i know its just a matter of time the 98 will start coding me to death as it has 240k. the 97 only has 165k but had a rough life. i guess its owner had the mentality that a toyota is tough so i can treat it like crap.

thanks to all,appreciate the link,been using the diy for the egr probs, done most all the tricks and tests short of checking each vac hose, thats next, about at my breaking point but i keep trying, i'll find it,,,,i hope
