Hi. I had a CEL a bit back with misfire code on #3, and also misfire on multiple cylinders.

I replaced the plugs first and the light came back on.

Any suggestions what commonly causes this? I hate to throw parts at a car, but I need some ideas.

I've got a 97 Camry LE with 111k on the clock.

It runs great.

Yes it looks like a too high timing indeed but your Camry is a distributorless model so you won't be able to change that...

I have a 96 LE was getting codes P300 P301 P303 and P305.
p300 - multiple misfire
p30x - x is cylinder number.

The reason I had was timing belt on that bank was off by a couple of teeth. When was thwe last time the belt was changed? Should be done around every 60,000 miles.

It was done at 65k last. Is due in another 9k.

I guess I'll have the timing checked out.

I may have to drive it another week or so like that. How bad is it for the engine?

Or just use the other car?

Thanks for the help.
