I have a misfire code in cylinder 1. The engine light is not illuminated and the car runs great. The spark plug was really dirty. I cleaned it and switched the plug and coil with the #2 cylinder. I still have the code for cylinder 1, but no engine light and the car runs fine. What could be the issue?

Did you erase the code. If you don’t erase i, it will stay in the computer

Anything and everything could be the reason.

We don't read minds nor have access to whether you even change your oil. No data of facts on its history or even the engine. LOL

a misfire will not cause the light to stay on; unless, its an ongoing event.
if there is a misfire, the light will flash and then go out.
if you let it go even longer, it will store the code and the light will go out.

make sure you clear the code and see if it comes back. Could be anything from a bad coil pack (10 min repair) to a bent intake/exhaust valve (engine needs to come out)...

could be a number of things... its like going to the Dr and asking why you dont feel well.

Dirty? As in oil soaked or what? How did plug 1 compare with plug 2 when you swapped them. If plug 1 was in bad shape and plug 2 looked normal, then I suspect you have a compression / piston oil ring seal issue / valve issue going on in cylinder 1.
