So I was under my 2003 4 cylinder Camry today for a totally different reason and noticed what appears to be a missing bolt from the oil sump (see picture below). It is located on the upper half of the oil sump pan...you can see the drain plug in the photo for reference...and faces the rear of the vehicle. I also wiped the area clean for the photo, it did have some gunk on it, so I don't know how long it has been missing (if something is actually missing).
The car runs fine and is not leaking any oil. Is this mysterious threaded hole missing a bolt or is it there for another reason? Any advice on what I should (or shouldn't) do? Note that I have never actually looked at the oil pan from this angle before.
Thanks,
Muskellunge
