Anyone know any retail store that sells them? I tried Superautobacs here in Socal and they dont have any. I didn't bother to check autozone or pepboys. Any ideas?

Autozone, PepBoys, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart are national store chains I have seen them sold in at various times. However, not all the individual stores seem to have them. Of the ones listed Autozone seems to have them the most consistant. # is M1-102 for the 4.0L V6 and I believe the L4 also takes the same one.

what's the advantage to using Mobil 1 filters? I use Purolator Micron, thought it was good enough.

Mobil 1 filters are a good choice. Purolator are good too, but they can filter a little too well, and restrict oil flow, especially their PureOne line.

Also, the M1 filter uses a synthetic filter material and I believe all the Purolater ones are paper.
