The single wiper that I've seen on MBs was specially designed for that application. The wiper arm moved on a cam which pushed the arm out farther on both ends of the arc and moved it in when near the center of the windshield so it would adequately cover both sides of the glass and still not hit the roofline in the middle. Doing it with a normal wiper motor is not going to give anywhere near as good coverage of the windshield area.
Very good, somebody else knows how the MB wiper works. But you can't do that with a camry motor, there is a lot of engineering involved to make the MB wiper do what it does.
thnks for the information im gonna try this during the summer, and i dont think its rice my brother have it on his mercedes 1988 300td and its very nice
:rice:To each his own, but the reason why your bro's has it, is because guess what..... ITS STOCK, CAME LIKE THAT FROM THE FACTORY, ORIGINAL
What he said.
I'd measure a MB windshield at a wreckers, and see if you can find one that is close to the same size as the Camry. I'd use an MB wiper motor and wiper arm for the reason mentioned above, and modify ( shorten? ) the wiper arm and/or blade as required. Mounting the motor will probably be the hardest part.
:deadhorseMounting the motor will be the easiest part. You better grab the motor, linkage, arm, wiring harness, wiper switch. Hell while your at it, if you want the mono wiper setup and also moves up and down to touch as mouch area of the windshield, why don't you pick up the whole damn benz while your there.
Some of you gen 3 guys think that just because its a camry, you have to take all the parts from other cars and throw a shit ton of money for the littlest mod. Just shit back, think for a lil bit, and realize how simple it is to modify existing parts from the camry to get that desired (rice) look you want.
Just my .02. If I offended anybody, I don't care, its my opinion. Just don't want you guys spending all this time and money when its simply two nuts, removing one arm and rotating the other one slighty. Then only putting one nut back on.
