Last nigth i just blew my engine (Racing with 15lbs boost) i am now needing either to do a whole new bottom end or a bottom end rebuild.

Is it easier just to buy a whole new bottom end from Toyota or should i just rebuild.

anyone know where i can get some good prices on pistons and rings and rods

and also what would be a better choice of a piston and rod setup

91 turbo, you can blow an eninge at 12 psi ...
Detonation causes 3SGTEs to blow up, not boost.
Increased boost increases your chances of detonation.

mr2slowtrd, you can get a whole factory built blokc (with everytihng in it) for about $1400 from the dealer.

OR

You could get a complete used 3SGTE for around $1300-$1450.

OR

Rebuild yours.

well i am not sure what caused the engine to blow. it is at the shop right now getting looked at, it might be that it had to much pressure and blew my head gasket which i did not break in properly (*Shrugs scratching head*) i was not supposed to boost but i did, i couldnt resist feeling the strength of the engine. but where can I find a whole complete 3sgte motor. anyone know of any websites???

why don't you just wait until you find out what happened for sure, then make a decision. it makes little sense building or buying until you do. at least when you find out what happened, then you can work on preventing it from happening again and blowing an even more expensive engine.
