if you wanted a fast car you shouldn't have purchased a corolla...but you can make it faster than it is. cheap power = bolt ons and nitrous. intake, exhaust, header, etc. next step would be a turbo, though i'd recommend rebuilding the internals first if you want to run reliable boost above 8PSI. a motor swap is feasable, and starting to become a popular trend. is your car an auto or a manual?
Corollas can be fast... but it wont be fast with bolt on crap.

yes they can be,but my question is why, there handling is not really good, I belive I quote BMW by saying "Power is nothing without control".

depends on what you do to the suspension. ;)

What is your idea of fast car? You really should define that goal before you go randomly adding parts.
i didnt purchase this car.. my dad bought it in 98 because he was needing something for room for the family and gas mileage... but when i turned 16 bout 2 years ago he gave me the car.. but he last year ive been savin up and ive been tihknin if its worth it fixin up this car to be faster than 125 hp... and a 17.6 in the quarter mile... i am lookin to make it around 200 hp.. and i was wondering if theres anythang out there i can do .. ive been lookin on ebay and theres no parts at all for the 99 corolla.. not even a short ram air that is good.. so thats the reason y ive been thinkin of gettin a new car.. its a manual by the way.. thats the only reason i am considering to make it fast.. i hate autos now lol.. i jus love the feel of controlling the car.. but i hope this helps u out and appricate the replys so far .. keep them coming please

That about sums it all up, teenager wanting to go fast in a family car. I suggest doing your research, lots of it before you decide you're going to turn your Corolla into a "fast car" :)

There is lots of stuff available for your car, but you have to know a little more about your car before finding mods for it, typing "1999 Corolla mods" in google might not get you as many hits as typing "1ZZFE mods" or "ZZE110 mods". BTW, 1ZZFE is the motor in your car which happens to be a ZZE110 which is the chassis code that Toyota uses for your car. There's lots of stuff out there for it, from suspension parts to exhausts to even supercharger kits from TRD, you just have to know where and what to look for.

Read, research and educate yourself before you do anything. :)
Tell your father to buy you a Supra... All the power you need.. And then some...
So you would trade it in because its not fast enough? How much are you willing to spend to make it faster?

hmmmm, i'm wondering where exactly this thread is going....
well basically i got the car since my dad bought himself other car so he jus left it for me for when i turned 16.. but ive been savin up the last year and got around 4 k but i was thinkin if i should try to fix up this car.. or maybe use that 4 k to get a camaro ss, trans am ws6 or mustang gt... i knwo ill be spendin around 10 k for one of those cars... but i thought maybe for the mean time if its worth keepin to fix up a bit to get it faster than 125 hp.. u know.. and i love the car since the engine is reliable i can fit friends in gas mileage... but i need speed and i thought it might be a fun project... i have seen a couple of corolla my year pimped out.. looks tight.. and i thikn maybe if i go here since alot of you guys have corollas.. that maybe i can find a website that might have sum good parts for my car.. thanks by the way for the input.. .

what are your goals? how much hp are you looks for? how much money do you want to invest? are you looking for looks or speed or both? how mechaniclly inclined are you? will you be doing this your self or paying someone else to do it? let us know, and we'll let you know :)
As someone who owns a 2000 Corolla I have to say that the Corolla is the Wonder bread of cars. You can't go wrong with one, but you aren't going to get excited about it either.

Actually, I'd be interested in hearing what you can do to a Corolla. Not because I want to make it "fast". I'd just like to make it a little less "white bread".

Oh, and I'm not likely to turn my Corolla into a tuner. Just a bit more, ummm..., well, more... :D
my bad bro... my goal is to get it up to around 175-200 hp probably spendin around 2 g... im lookin for speed more than looks.. and i can get sum friends to help me on stuff..
ya i dont want to make it into a ricer burner also.. if u can tell i am tryin to wrok with wat i got if i cant get an goodness outta the car then ill ju sgo for muscle..

The only way your going to get 50-75hp for under $2K in a corrolla is with Nitrous. If your planning on buying an F-Body or Mustang, I would just save your money up for one.
Pimped Out? Are you kidding? What do you want a ghetto mobile? If you really have 4k to dedicate to your car then yes you can get a good bit more hp out of it.
