so today i was in the parking lot and it was raining and i had to make a hard turn to make a turn and so i was at full tilt and started to give some gas maybe too much and then all of a sudden POP...grind grind grind. i was pissed so we called our local import repairer and they think its a cv axle or some chain thing in the tranny but im not sure but when i checked the engine and my friend put it in gear the grinding was coming from the center so what do you think it is

the grinding was really loud at first but it got a lot quieter real quick

so let me know what you think it is

the repair shop is going to look at it in the morning and then give us and estimate.

yeah best as in just a axle and not the whole tranny

what milage do camry tranny tend to go out i only have 79K miles on my 97camry and i dont drive really hard on the car all the time only here and there and its not even that hard just up to 5k or taking hard turns but that shouldnt hurt it too much
ohhh man, that sucks....I hope It's not expensive . Good luck
damn thats sucks, you said its coming form teh center, center of the like under the engine?
my money is on cv axle. it would be hard to mess up the tranny by just taking a turn to hard.
it was the cv axle and there estimating 300 im guess there replacing both so 75 for each axle and then 150 for labor??? sound ok
That's not too bad. If you want to do it yourself you could save a couple hundred $$.

im no mechanic and i didnt know what was broken in the first place and im too afraid to break something because im a master at that and i go to school so i needed it back quick which was great because it was taken in today and was finished today so ill be getting my baby back 2morrow
Not sure if it is cv axle. I just got my car back from the shop because of a broken water pump. I only have 45,000 miles on my 2000 camry. I had a grinding sound with my car too i also saw a huge puddle of water underneath my car. Because it was raining it would be hard to tell. Check to see if you coolant is empty.
