NO! You messed up huh!? Are any parts touching the oven wall? or is your oven still on with the headlights inside?
Did you turn OFF the oven before putting the light in? You only turn the oven on to get the temp up to 300, then turn it off and put your light in, and just let the light soak inside the radiating heat. A live heating element will create too much direct heat and it will melt the headlamp.
also, what i did was put it on a peice of regular cardboard so that i wouldnt end up with any grill marks in melted plastic.

You took it out before you posted this right?
LOL.

No, the light is still in the oven. It's still smoking. What should I do?

:hammer:
Honey... This cake tastes like plastic.
Are there any IQ requirements to post in TN?

My oven was smoking as well...but I sure as hell didn't post here to tell everybody I f'd up when I was trying to do the mod. BTW - I left the oven on and the cardboard started to burn, hence the smoking...no damage though as I caught it in time.
i say we delete the DIY thread so we can make some money
Did you toss a pizza in there as well, to maximize your time management?
bsacks77??

Hellooooooo? ... Are you there?
You just did - tell every one
did this guy not read the second to the the last post?

damn it, follow intructions man.

i posted it so people can be careful with that procedure.

Post back and let us know what happened to the lights. I gotta ask...did the fire department show up? If yes, did they ask why you were cooking your headlights?
hey!! i did everything right. cardboard, the oven was off, i didn't even leave it in there for more than 4 min before it started to smoke. it was only at 300 degrees, i even kept the oven door open for a little bit because i was scared to put it in. it was really wierd. i took off all the rubber, bulbs and screws just like it said. although, i just took it through the car wash just before, that puts a layer of wax, supposedly, so i'm thinking that that is what was burning?? i'm very conscientious when it comes to do anything to my truck.
o yeah, and not only did i try to cool down the oven by leaving the door open for a little bit. the cardboard that i used about bordered the whole oven. maybe it was something in the cardboard... i dunno???
So did it work? did they come out? pics?
