A quick fix for preventing accummulation of rust, mold and mildew, from water leaks into the trunk area. Just remove one of the rubber drain plug under the spare wheel well in the trunk and let the rain water drain out. This will do the trick until you are able to fix the leak.

Not in my experience, this plug is not located in the rear driving wheel well, it is located in the middle of the car. Water does not jump from the road up into your trunk. This is known as gravity.
