Ole Vibe made the 400 mile trek back to college. At the end a rattle appeared and then they heard a noise and ran something over. Appears to be a heat shield. Anyone know exactly where it came from?

As others have said, it shouldn't hurt to drive it a short while without it. I would get a look as soon as convenient.

Make sure it's not the shield between the gas tank and the pipe.
You can check for that pretty easy without lifting the car.

I'll be down there in about 6 weeks and give it a look see. I'll make sure it's not protecting the fuel tank. Car is not used too much.

Yup, Could be #16. A few days ago I took it to Lou's Custom Exhaust and they removed #12 and #13 and welded in a solid pipe. Must of loosened it up a little.

Um, don't emulate a cop car and park with engine running for hours to keep a/c on?

hangers can be pressed into emergency service to keep from falling off. Once off, better solutions should be utilized IMO.

it's a heat shield, you don't really need it... it won't burn your car down or anything, they're more annoying than anything really.
