Ole Vibe made the 400 mile trek back to college. At the end a rattle appeared and then they heard a noise and ran something over. Appears to be a heat shield. Anyone know exactly where it came from?

Obvious exhaust heat shield is obvious.

Crawl under and look. Shouldn't be rocket science.

That sucker must have been rattling for some time!

I'm 400 miles away! It was not rattling when she left. Started when they were an hour away from the college. My Daughter will never be confused with Mona Lisa Vito.

HA! Hopefully you could see the sarcasm in my font...

As others have said, it shouldn't hurt to drive it a short while without it. I would get a look as soon as convenient.

I'll be down there in about 6 weeks and give it a look see. I'll make sure it's not protecting the fuel tank. Car is not used too much.

This should be similar. It's probably the shield over the center.
Yup, Could be #16. A few days ago I took it to Lou's Custom Exhaust and they removed #12 and #13 and welded in a solid pipe. Must of loosened it up a little.

it's a heat shield, you don't really need it... it won't burn your car down or anything, they're more annoying than anything really.
