Despite owning a 2015 model vehicle, the navigation is seriously outdated, missing roads that were built in or before 2012! I had suspected I would need to go to a local dealer to get an update, but I also have a conscience that refuses to pay to update a system that was 3 years out-of-date at the time of purchase!
Anyhow, in my google search I came across this site; https://toyota.garmin.com/toyota/#getStarted
To make sure it is a legitimate URL and the EXE was not dangerous I manually went to garmin.com and selected the "Automotice" from the "Maps" tab. Doing so brings you to this URL http://www.garmin.com/en-CA/maps/updates/?/automotive and at the bottom you'll see:
"Have a navigation system built into your dash? Find updates for your in-dash system."
I am wondering if anybody has updated their maps on their own using this method? If not, I'd be happy to give it a go, just hope it doesn't mess something up in the process.
