To start I have a 1986 22rte that I can't get to idle. It ran fine until I put on a new head gasket. I can get it to start but dies out quickly. I've found that wedging the AFM open it will idle just fine. I did check all the intake hoses and clamps and it seems to be fine.
Do I need a new AFM or does it need to be adjusted?
