I have a 2010 Toyata Collolla. The O2 Sensor and Catalyst were not ready when I had the car emissions test. I have tried to rest the sensors by driving the car. Is there a diagnostic device I can buy to check if the sensors are ready for the emissions test? Thanks.

This is the model I use.

Then pay $5 for torque pro.

You'd want to drive the Corolla for at least a couple of days before you go back for the retest. When the battery is disconnected or dies, it will reset all the monitors.

The drive cycle requires driving at varying speeds, but I don't know if that's accurate. Just drive it like you would normally do. But do it at least a full week just to be on the safe side.

How to prepare for (Wisconsin) emissions test:
  • EVAP system test only happens when you have more than 1/4 and less than 3/4 fuel tank and 8 hours after the vehicle has been shut off
  • Go on a nice drive so the catalytic converter can warm up
It's Black Friday time, there are plenty of low price engine scanners on Amazon. Just make sure to look for the ones that are able to look at those components.
