Arite, i think i've asked this but never got a good answer or one that helped...

As i understand it, my v6 camry should make it to 100 on the freeway no problem... yeah right... i have yet to be able to get it there, the car just doesnt have the power...

As I accelorate there is absolutely NO torque at all, what-so-ever... The car like, jolts VERY subtley as im accelorating, as if i was mis-firing or, when you shot a squirt gun, it ends up going in spurts if there is an air-bubble... the RPM's go up rather slowly, as i shift into second its as if i hit a brick wall (other than the one i was pushing against to get through first)

Car feels like a 4cylinder! Please Diagnose my problem for me!

Sounds like a misfire. Change your plugs and wires if you haven't done those in a long time. Change your fuel filter, that could cause a hesitation and lack of power. Also when changing your plugs do a compression test on all the cylinders to make sure the engine itself isn't the problem.

Mine would stutter and jolt if I went WOT and it tried to downshift. Changed the plugs & wires, everything is perfect. Good luck with the rear bank :lol:

BTW, I've made it to 126mph... I've hit 100mph uphill.

Yea i've touched 120 mph for a good maybe 8 seconds

it should be smooth all the way up for a v6

I had my step-dad who is a master-tech look at it today, he says its not an ignition problem, he's thinking clogged catalytic convertor... so im gonna try that first since its cheaper, might as well go with a high-flow one while im at it...

A hair under 135 on flat ground and my v6 didnt break a sweat. My car is actually smoother when in the triple digits.

What IS the top speed on the gen 3's? is it governed?

I don't know about governed top speed, but after a few solid minutes with my foot to the pedal and a decline hill, got my old 92 4cyl a little above 120.

Has anyone here hit the governer on a gen 4? I had mine up to about 132 but had to slow down for a corner that was coming closer awful fast!

my 90 gt governs at 122mph and it will hold there as long as i let it 183452 miles and still takin names

does the check engine light come on at all? does they tranny work properly?

i hit over 140mph in the wagon and didn't know it. i don't think they have a govenor on them. i heard the jdm ecu's have one and it limits you at about 110mph.

My gen4 v6 has a govenor at 135. Don't ask me how I know

My '94 tops out at 140 or so, but I don't think it's governed.

My 5sfe (i4) goes a bit more than 140, never felt governor, but I guess that must be different in Europe where people are used to drive a bit faster on motorways.
If your v6 is running fine it's perhaps a bad timing ( I know I always talk about that subject )

Got the Same problem with my Crapmero. Ive changed the fuel filter, plugs and wires. It helped a little bit and the car ran great for like 2 days...now it starts and dies. I think its the dist. and cap, But now that its just stalling and dieing...Im thinking its the fuel pump.
