I have a buddy that has a late 80's early 90's Celica. He has to replace the EGR valve and that's all he knows. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can help him locate where it is and if anyone knows any thing "special" about going about replacing it.

Common sense tells me if its part of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation it would have to be close to the Exhaust Manifold or the hot pipes coming out of the engine (cold ones would be intake)

3S-GE (4th gen) and 5S-FE (5th gen) are both located on the back of the throttle body. Get a Hayans, or the other repair manual(dont know the name of it, and it will give you pictures. Very good investment, if you plan on doing your own work on the car.
