Need help / suggestions

Hi there!

I'm pretty new into the world of automobile, as I've just received my grandfather's '92 Silver Camry as a gift for my birthday (my first car). It's a gen3 with only 61k miles on the odometer so it will last pretty long I think..

My situation, though, is a bit complicated: since I can only work during summer, I have very few dollars to spend on modding it. That being said, I always find myself going outside and just look at the car, sit in it and analyse every part of it. I have realised all mods I could ever afford or do myself would be rice stuff but hey, that's OK for me...

I'm just looking for everyone's suggestions on easy, cheap or DIY mods that a random dude with veeeery basic mechanic skills can handle.

What I have done so far (ricin' up, nothing really):

-Changing a few bulbs in dash to blue ones
-Changing glove box and dome light bulbs to blue ones
-Putting on AEM & Greddy stickers on side-rear windows, outside
-Adding a black/blue steering wheel cover (pissed of the old dull grey one)

What I'm planning on doing:

-Buying Mp3-reading head set (or car deck, whatever you call the cd-reading thing in the console)
-Fabricating a custom mesh-grill (currently ongoing)
-Buying Reverse glow gauges from ebay
-Painting dash trim/buying kit

What I'll do if ever I get a bit of money:

-Get rims
-Get bodykit
-Drop suspension
-Buy CAI
-Buy Tower Strut bar
-Buy exhaust system (with pipe)

Sorry if that sounded pathetic, I'm so poor that's why I'm whining around :p

Thanks for dropping in your comments/suggestions/ideas/photos of basic things you've done yourself before...

Best place I have ever found.

DIY: angelfire.com/mn3/smokingtiresv6/cornerlamp.html
It's a "How To" on correcting the offset corner lamps on Gen 3 Camrys I put together.

Personally, if you have limited funds, I say make it more enjoyable to drive. Stereo, maybe nicer seats, handling. Things that make it more fun to be in. Not stuff that is going to worsing your mileage.
check ebay for strut tower bars, DIY CAI, don't put stickers on it. I'd say just save your money and don't spend it on cheap little mods, You'd be surprised how much those cost when you put them all together and then you realize you could have gotten a cat back or something. Just something to think about.
im takin notes... thanks guys, others keep up giving your opinion please!
AEM and GReddy stickers on a stock Camry.... :disappoin

Come on man, haven't you read up???? Stickers give you like 10 hp

Rim are always cool. Make it fun to look at. If you were me, you wish you could do that:

Type them, don't just click them. Otherwise they won't work.

All of those specs:disappoin

oh, also make sure it's in perfect mechanical shape before you start modding. Flushing the fluids is always good if they havent been changed in a while (oil should be changed at least every 6 months even if the car was just sitting).

If you're going for looks over speed I know some people have put new celica seats in. A few people can give some neon advice. Just do a few searches and I'm sure you can find the answer to almost any question and if you can't just post.

My ToyotaNation.com stickers gave me 10hp, but AEM? GReddy? Those ain't sh*t :thumbdown
i would definatly tell u lay off the stickers unless u got that in the car....even then i personally don't do the whole sticker thing. definately save ur money and get bigger mods, cuz they're more fun, at least in my opinion. a dIY CAI is an easy one, can be cheap too if u get ur stuff in the right places....

For the CAI do you need to do anything to the wheel well? Like cut into it? Cause i'm thinking about picking up on of those OBX ones once they can be purchased, but won't buy it if I have to fuck around cutting shit.
ok last time i'm going to spam my stupid idea i'm going to put it together tomorrow hung over (i work better that way for some reason) and see how it does. but ya.

that shows you the sound damper on the intake. remove that and your got your self a little deeper roar to the engine not much most cant tell but hey it's something, after i do my experament tomorrow i'll post if it is a good idea to seal the real intake port and use a dryer hose to make a CAI from stock parts ....

 so nice! What happened to your eyelids?
Best thing to do is get it all serviced first.

I remember my first motorbike, in first three months, covered it in stickers. One day peeled them all off and was amazed how good it looked. Same thing with my first car, stuck stuff all over it. Golden rule then was I had to have the product before I stuck it on. But same thing, eventually got tired of the rolling billboard, tore them all off and liked it more. Nowadays, I take signage off and black out emblems. Only sticker I have is the flag. I am considering a TN sticker, but it's going on my toolbox.
