I have an 89 gt-s and my spedo isnt working. Iv done some investigation and cant find out wether it is the upper portion or just the entire cable i will need? Also once i have the parts needed asuming it is the entire cable how do i get the original cable out of the car and install the new one?
Any help will be much apreciated.

For cable removal unscrew where the sections join. The instrument cluster would need to be removed to access section of cable inside. By unscrewing connection you should be able to get enough slack in cable to move cluster forward enough to see how to unhook it from gauge cluster. The lower section must have a retainer that holds it in tranny. Check out a repair manual for details on cluster removal and any more detailed info on the replacement. If like all other toy repairs it is probably pretty easy job.
