need info on tranny

I was wondering if there is a difference in the 5 speeds between the FX-16 and the SR5 trannys. I was told that the FX-16 had a close ratio 5 speed that would bolt strait up to my 4AF. Is there any truth to it, and if so, does anyone got one?
