There are several free online Toyota EPC (electronic parts catalog) that you can download that are amazing and I use them all of the time prior to a repair or when trying to cross reference parts:

Here are places to download the free Toyota EPC catalogs:

Here is a copy & paste (from my computer folders) of some VERY RESOURCEFULL info on Toyota diesel truck and 4-Runner discussion sites, places to buy them in USA & Canada and sources for parts:

The way the price of gasoline (petrol for Australians) is going I suggest that everyone convert their Toyotas to diesel as they are more:

fuel efficient
higher torque
waterproof
simpler
reliable
safer
can idle all day long
less overheat episodes
can burn bio diesel or vegetable oil (without glycerin)

Well to help everyone dismiss the myth that Toyota diesel pickups & SUV's are rare in USA & Canada I have included below a list of very resourceful links that contain places to buy diesel engines/parts and complete rigs.

These are 14 Toyota DIESEL 4-Runner/pickup discussion sites:

Once you have the Toyota part # you can lookup pricing at these two USA Toyota dealerships that have the best prices in USA and probably the whole world, the first one is in Renton,Washington:

http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com/partscat.html (10% shipping by Fed Ex or free shipping with $100 & over for USA customers, speak to Roger at 1-888-271-3948)
http://www.toyotadiscountparts.com (free shipping with $100 & up for USA customers)

These are OEM Toyota sub contractors that have permission from Toyota Motor Corp of Japan to sell some OEM parts outside of Toyota dealerships:

http://www.densoaftermarket.com
http://www.densoproducts.com
http://www.ngksparkplugs.com (use coupon code "dodgetalk" to get extra 10% off)

This is an aftermarket store that usually has the best prices on aftermarket parts for our Toyota 4-Runners and trucks, they usually have Denso,NGK,NSK,Aisin,Tokico and other makes that are used in Toyota trucks when they are assembled at the factories:

Thanks to Toytruck89 and Sidney for your answers.

I bought the truck through craigs list. In the vancouver area there are always a dozen or so fresh imports for sale.

I have been downloading a EPC for over 16 hours now and it says there is another day or so left before I get the full file.

This is the unit I have http://search.stores.ebay.co.uk/mast...cusZbsQQsofpZ4 which has the extra stub on the end for the heat shield needed due to the proximity to the turbo unit. I need the official Toyota part no so that when I order from someone I can be sure of getting the right part. I want a new one or else would get teh one above.

Thank you Sidney for the resources I am very sure they will come in handy.

Still looking for the part numbers.

I heard from other members that when they download the free Toyota EPC catalog by using slow dial up internet that when finnished the file/s are corrupt.Usually to get them to download properly people used high speed internet,I had a friend download them for me several years ago and burn them on CD's for me as at the time I didn't have high speed internet and still don't have a CD burner.

I still cannot get the EPC catalog to read data from both CD's only the main EPC menu shows up and when I try to get it to read from CD's it doesn't work, many people say this EPC software usually works easily with Windows 95 or 98 but is difficult to get to operate on any newer Windows,I even had my friend partition my hard drive and even install the EPC catalog on a seperate hard drive he installed in my computer and I still cannot get it to work otherwise I would of given you the part #.

I am pretty certain that the USA/Canada version of EPC catalog that you download from Yankeetoys.org has a 2L diesel section and any Toyota dealership will be able to give you a part # and even order it but I recommend 1stoyoytaparts.com & toyotadiscountparts.com as they have the best prices in USA and obviously Canada and with the Canadian Dollar doing so well it's well worth it. I purchased a set of spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor from Roger at 1sttoyota parts 2 weeks ago and was very pleased with his prices and service.

If you speak to Roger tell him I sent you.
