Ok, well i just dropped a 1990 v6 into my 1991 v6 truck and when i went to plug the harness into the ecu the plugs were different!! I have been trying to talk to the salvage place i got the motor from to get more info but i am not really having any luck. I REALLY don't want to have to swap harnesses does anyone know if i will have any trouble using a 90 ecu ?

Anyone out there have a 1990 ecu for a truck with a v6 and 4wheel drive?

Guess i got excited to see the motor in the truck alittle to quickly.. ahh well.

they're different??? hmm figured all the 3.0 v6s would be the same. wierd. sorry I can't help ya. just hate when nobody replies to my posts in forums. so I will post a useless reply in yours for ya :whatwhat:

i had a 90 22re i dropped in my 94 and it was different harness also. we thought we could use the computer from the 90 4x4 auto but it turned out to be more trouble than swapping to the original harness and sensors. id just bite the bullet and swap em.
