need to find dash lighting wire

920 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ajackm
I need to find a wire that's conected to my dash lights. I want to supply power to a couple of air gauges so they light up with the rest of my dash lights when I turn them on at night. I just need to find that one wire to splice into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Btw, I have the wiring schematics for this truck, but I'm not sure I'm reading them correctly. I just need someone to tell me something like "blue wire in this part of the harness under the steering column." Thanks again.

Dorkman is the guy who did the custom guage setup in his truck, he must know. Shoot him a PM.
you could just run them to the fuse box and tap them into the parking light fuse.
might make it easier. I have done it that way before
Use the Green, and Green w/white stripe wires that connect to the harness plugged in directly behind the Temp control knob. I believe you need to use both so that your gauges can dim with the rest of the lights.

If you try this let me know if it works, I just hooked mine into the parking lights so they don't dim with the other gauge lights, does not bother me but would be nice if they did.
I used the Green and Green w/white wires to light up the 4X4 switch. These 2 wires dim with the dash lights.
