Hey there, I have a beautiful new metallic blue 2016 Camry XSE that a taxi promptly hit the corner of my driver side rear bumper and cracked my rear driver side taillight. Oh and did I mention he just drove away? Anyways, I need to replace the taillight and I want to know if anyone has done this on a 2016, because on the 12-14's, you had to pull the rear bumper cover off to do it. Any knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best way is to do it one side at a time. I unscrewed and unhooked the bumper halfway instead of taking it off completely. This helps you hook up the bumper easily after you're done. Takes no more than 5 mins. to unscrew and unhook the bumper.

Each taillight has a hook at the bottom part of the light that hooks onto the bumper. Because of that, you will need to unhook the bumper so that you can slide it off the bumper easily without breaking any thing.

Hey thanks xpeed! Can you tell me where the bolts and/or screws are that secure the bumper cover? I think the taillight just have 4 bolts also. Thanks
I will take pictures later and post them up.

I've been meaning to do a DIY for this.

Were you able to get any of his information (Medallion #, taxi cab company info?)...I would hope you have a police report. It would be ironic if the cab that hit you was a Camry.

Hey got-rice, actually I got the cab #, company name, and yes, ironically it was a Camry cab. Put in a claim with the company and they had an adjuster look at it. Then about a week later I got a letter saying there was not enough evidence to support the claim. Stupid of me not to file a police report. Duh!
